SCHOOL CENTS FUNDRAISER

We’re in the Home Stretch & are currently in 5th place close behind Walgrove who is in 4th place!  Here’s a simple way to help our school, just by shopping at the Westside Pavilion!  All you have to do is log in your receipts from purchases made between September 15, 2008 through May 15, 2009 (even through the holidays) to receive ten (10) points for each dollar spent in any non-department (specialty) store, cart, movie, food court or other service/vendor at Westside Pavilion.  Purchases made at Nordstrom or Macy’s will receive five (5) points for each dollar spent. 
Just take your receipts to the mall’s Guest Services, located on the second floor of the mall.   Receipts are logged and returned back to you!  Prizes are awarded in June to the school as mall-wide AMEX gift cards, which are then used to purchase student-use items for Mar Vista Elementary School.  If you do not need your receipts back, you can also drop them in the School Cents Green Box which is located in the front lobby of the school from now thru May 14th, 2009 , and Lillian Matayoshi will get them logged for you.
Mall fliers have been sent home periodically, and emails through your room parents highlight mall events and announce stores that are offering bonus points during that month.   For example, earn triple points for every $1 spent on EACH AMEX GIFT CARD  (any denomination from $20 - $500) if you buy an AMEX gift card at guest services and log in your receipt from now through May 15th ($2.00 fee per card is cheaper than buying them at the grocery store).  It’s important that the receipts be logged before May 15th and not later than that to receive the bonus points.   It’s a perfect time to buy a Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation or Teacher Appreciation gift and get points to help our school win 4th place or better!  Check out the e-mails and flyers and reminders to look for events happening at the Westside Pavilion to earn us points like Mother’s Day event (May 7th – 5:00pm) – we’ll earn 500 points per person, kids are welcome to wrap gifts, too! & the UCLA Blood Drive (May 9th & May 11th) – we’ll earn 10,000 points per donor!
Kids Club event on 1st Wed. of each month! Mar Vista gets 500 points every time you sign in (6:00pm-6:45pm).  It’s FREE to enroll and attend their events!  You don’t have to stay to watch, just sign in to help us get points!
